Kwara State University, KWASU Advanced Basic Studies (CABS) Programme Application

Kwara State University, KWASU Advanced Basic Studies (CABS) Programme is designed to prepare candidates for consideration for DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION to 200 level of regular degree programmes through the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination. The programme is specifically designed to provide an opportunity for candidates who cannot gain admission to regular degree programmes in Nigerian Universities for one reason or the other. The following are the available Programmes for which candidates can be offered admission after passing the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination:

Candidates seeking admission into KWASU Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination must possess five (5) ordinary level credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language. For candidates pursuing courses in Sciences, Engineering, Management and Social  Sciences, credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory from any of WASC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings
Prospective candidates will apply online via and the form will be processed accordingly. Candidates will further go through a screening exercise. Successful candidates will have their names published on-line and through SMS messages. As an alternative, application forms can be obtained from the Main Campus, Kwara State University, Malete and at any of the Kwara State Local Government Secretariat.

  4. Complete the form and bring it along with all photocopies of your credentials and Scratch Cards for all examinations taken on the day of screening exercise
  5. Application Fee: Ten Thousand Naira (N10, 000: 00) only payable at any of the Branches of Mainstreet Bank, PLC

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO 200 LEVEL For candidates to be admitted to 200 level, they must

  1. Possess five credits in relevant subjects at O’Level;
  2. Apply  through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by obtaining the DIRECT ENTRY FORMS from the JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD (JAMB)
  3. Pass the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination.

Students will be fully accommodated in the Hostels on the University campus and are expected to conform to the rules and regulations guiding the day-to-day operation of the Hostels. It is compulsory that Students live in the University hostels in order to ensure that learn in a highly conducive environment.
